661,112. Pipe couplings. TATA IRON & STEEL CO., Ltd. Aug. 21, 1948. No. 22079/48. Addition to 645,764. Class 99 (i). In the pipe coupling claimed in Specification 645,764, the number of union rings is reduced from two to one so that the coupling comprises two flanged union fittings 1, 12 threaded or the ends of the pipes A, B respectively and a union ring C adapted to bear against the flange of one fitting and interlock with the second fitting, one of the fittings having a projecting ring in an end face thereon to engage in an annular recess in the opposing end face of the other fitting, and interlocking of the ring and fitting being effected by relative rotation, whereupon wedge-shaped segmental projections 13 on the fittings engage like recesses approached by segmental notches on the union ring.
