659,983. Burners. PRENT, J. Nov. 8, 1949, No. 28582. Convention date, Oct. 7. [Class 75(i)] A burner for paint removal includes a box-like gas chamber 1, which has burner openings 3 in its front face and to which is attached in spaced relationship thereto an enclosing hood 8 beyond which spacing members 13 extend. In use gas from a feed line 4, provided with a control device 5, flows through the chamber 1 to the openings 3; the flames 12, confined in a space 10 between the fronts of the hood and chamber, heat the front 9 of the hood, while combustion gases escape via openings (not shown) in discharge chambers 11 between the sides of the hood 8 and chamber 1 and are deflected by plate 15 provided on the feedline 4 in front of an air inlet 14. The hot face 9 is spaced from the paint 16 by the members 13.
