Abstract
763,538. Heat radiators. SCHWANK, G. Sept. 16, 1954 [Feb. 5, 1954], No. 26927/54. Class 51 ( 1 ). A heat-radiating device having a plurality of burner bodies of refractory material; a surface of each of which is caused to glow by the combustion of a mixture of air and fuel and which are arranged in a housing is characterized in that the bodies in the form of burner closure plates are arranged adjacent each other in a row so that the length thereof is a multiple of the width and that the plates so arranged are surrounded by a reflector the general shape of which is that of the row of plates. In the heatradiating device shown, a row of burner bodies 2 are disposed in a housing 1 being connected together and to a flange 1a of the housing by split-rivets 8. The housing incorporates a chamber 7 to the rear of the bodies 2 and carries a baffle plate 9 therein. Fuel and air mixture from the supply pipe 5 passes through an injector 4 and is directed by the baffle 9 evenly over the rear surfaces of the bodies. The mixture then passes through the bodies and ignites at their front surfaces. A reflector 3 is carried by the housing.
