[Class 126] An interception chamber located between the fire and the chimney is fitted with means to secure a non - turbulent draught in order to minimize "chimney - pull." As shown, the chamber a is incorporated with the rear of the fire outlet. Air from the room enters the chamber through a front opening e and the chamber is divided into shallow passages to prevent turbulence by plates g; a protuberence h is provided to produce a venturi effect. In a modification, the chamber is separate from the fire.
