659,721. Roads, pavements &c. WEBSTER, V. C. STEER-. Nov. 4, 1949, No. 28309. Addition to 581,171. [Class 107] Each component p of the paving blocks of the parent Specification is provided with a depression r in its undersurface to create a suction effect on the surface on which it is laid. The depression is of square or rectangular shape and is of trapezoidal crosssection. The reinforcement may be a wire grid or mesh or rods b, g which either project outside the boundary of the block to form loops c, or terminate in eyelets alternate ones of which project from and are recessed within the edges of the block so that the blocks can be coupled up edge to edge. The block may be made of concrete, non-slip granite or bitumastic compound.
