Abstract
226,057. Lancette, C. J. M. Jan. 21, 1924. Paving slabs.-Roads are formed of large reinforced concrete slabs 3, 4 prepared away from the site and laid upon small reinforced concrete blocks 1, 2 which are embedded in the ground Further, the joints in the slabs are arranged over the blocks so that, after joining up the ends of the reinforcement of the slabs by pins or hooks 7, the interspaces can be filled with concrete 10. To provide expansion joints at intervals, iron bars are moulded into the edges of the slabs and the joints are filled with asphalt. The slabs may be faced with carborundum. Specification 150,965 is referred to.
