Abstract
279,269. Steel-Mesh Road Surface Co., Ltd., and Dunker, L. H. A. Dec. 2, 1926. Segmental paving.-The joints a<1> between concrete or like paving sections a are spanned by metal grids b, or cavitous metal bars filled with asphalt or concrete, in order to distribute the traffic load over the joints. Framed grids as described in Specification 257,057 may be countersunk in the carpet layer c, and the asphalt or cement filling may extend into the joints a<1>, as shown in Fig. 3. Square grids may be placed over the joint junctions, as shown in Fig. 2.
