Abstract
659,281. Bed settees. CURTIS, E. L. March 30, 1949, No. 8599. [Class 52 (ii)] A bedsettee comprises three frame sections A, B, C articulated together each section comprising side members connected by cross members which include U-shaped leg members such as 10, 16, and a fabric &c. surface 18. The side members 1, preferably tubular, are connected by links pivoted to wooden plugs secured in the ends of the side members and, when desired the adjacent frame sections are held in alignment by means of sleeves 8 which may be slipped over the joints. The legs 9, 10, 16, 17 of U-shape are adjustably secured to the side members 1 by studs passing through the side members 1 into wooden plugs secured to the ends of the legs the plugs having a curved recess to fit the side members 1 and so position the legs in their position of use. The fabric 18 is secured to the side members by stitching &c. and to the end members by press studs. Fig. 4 shows the sections arranged as a chair the front section C forming the seat while the section A with folded legs 9 forms a support for the section B serving as a back. If it is desired to arrange the sections as a lounge chair sections B, C are placed and fixed in alignment and the section A arranged to serve as a back.
