Abstract

626,411. Bed settees. SENG CO. June 23, 1947, No. 16507. Convention date, Oct. 4, 1945. [Class 52 (ii)] A bed settee comprising a frame 8 with end 10 is provided with a bed frame 20 which may be extended as shown to bed position but is retractable into the frame 8 to settee position below a head rest 14 in the dotted lines position. The front supports of the bed frame comprise a pair of links 21 pivoted to the bed frame 20 at 22 and to plates 24 fixed to the frame 8. The plates 24 are provided with arcuate slots 25 with which engage the pins 26 on the links 21. The rear end of the bed frame is provided with rollers 33 adapted to be guided in runways 34 shaped as shown so that in retracted position the frame 20 is sloped downwardly and rearwardly as is desirable for seats. The links 21 are linked to pivoted legs 27 for the front of the bed frame 20, retraction of the bed frame causing the legs 27 to be folded out of the way. The back rest 14 is carried by links 17 and member 12 so that it may be brought into position to support pillows.
