Abstract

658,018. Bed settees. DUCROT, A. July 19, 1949, No. 19008. Convention date, July 27, 1948. [Class 52 (ii)] A bed settee comprises two bed sections a, b, embodying spring mattresses, hinged together at 1, a back 11, 14 hinged to the bed section b at 15, a seat 18, 20 pivoted to the back at 21 and a stuff mattress c. As shown in Fig. 2 the folded stuff mattress c lies below and behind the seat and back respectively and to transform into bed position the seat 18, 20 is folded on to the back 11, 14 and the whole then folded down with the bed section b causing the legs 6 to be brought into position by levers and linkage 8, 10. Arm rests e if provided may serve in the bed position to support the side of the bed. In modifications the bed sections may be hinged together on two axes and also the seat may be pivoted to a bed section other than that to which the back is pivoted.
