Seat adjustments.-In a chair, couch, &c. of the type in which the hinged back b is angularly adjustable by means of a loose rod engaging a series of pockets in wooden brackets on each side of the chair &c., the ends of the loose rod i engage brackets f each with a rack device comprising curved pockets or dead-ended slots g disposed in different horizontal and vertical planes and connected by curved slots. The loose rod i is provided with collars between the brackets.
