Abstract
401,780. Folding bedsteads. HOKANSON, A. E., and WELLS, E. G., c/o X Chair Patents Co., Hayes, Middlesex. June 10, 1932, No. 16493. [Class 52 (ii).] In a folding bed or the like comprising horizontal frame members each composed of two portions 10, 11, hinged together about a horizontal axis, at 12, and downwardly extending legs 15, 16 pivoted to each portion near the axis, the legs being foldably connected together at their lower ends, each leg is connected to the corresponding leg on the other frame by a transverse bar 18 at or near its lower end. The wooden frames 10, 10 and 11, 11, are connected at their outer ends by wooden bars 13, 14 respectively, and folding legs 20, 22 are provided at each end of the bed. The legs 15, 16 at each side of the frame a e connected near their lower ends by metal links 17, and the legs are preferably braced to the transverse bars 18 by metal braces 19. A head-rest frame 24 is provided, adjustable by means of struts 25, and a fabric covering 28 is stretched between the head rest frame and the bar 14.
