Abstract

651,711. Boxes etc.; packages. HOGDAL, S. B. Sept. 6, 1945, No. 23018. [Classes 18 and 94(i)] A cardboard or like box with an unslit paper lining has one or both ends closed by panels 5', 5<SP>2</SP>, 5<SP>3</SP>, 5<SP>4</SP> of which 5<SP>2</SP> is' formed as a separate flap and panels 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>3</SP>, 5<SP>4</SP> are connected at the corners, the panels 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>3</SP> having fold lines 7, 8 and embodying wings or flaps 12 that swing about fold lines 9. The box is made from a blank, Fig. 1, with fold lines 2, 3 defining the walls and the panels and with portions 10 removed from the panels 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>3</SP> to form flaps 12, which are separated from the flap 5<SP>2</SP>. The blank is folded into tubular form, with the lining 14 pasted to at least the panels 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>3</SP>, but not to the flap 5<SP>2</SP>, and the ends are closed by folding inwardly the end panels 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>3</SP>, Fig. 3, folding the panel 5<SP>4</SP> forwardly thereon so that the fore end of the lining is located between the flap 5<SP>2</SP> and the edge of panel 5<SP>4</SP> and finally folding the flap 5<SP>2</SP> on to the upper surface.
