Abstract

178,308. Drysdale, H. April 7, 1921. Folding boxes; lined boxes. - The ends of a collapsable tubular carton, having the usual end folding flaps, are provided with lining material attached wholly to some of the flaps and partly to the others and forming an uncut continuation of the body part so that, when the flaps are turned in to close the carton, the lining material is interfolded with the flaps in a predetermined manner so as to form a substantially powdertight and airtight closure. As shown the lining material 8, Fig. 2, is attached at each end wholly to the flaps 3 and partly, by triangular patches 2 of adhesive, Fig. 1, to the flaps 1; the lining is folded upon itself at 7 as the flaps 3 are turned dcwn, the flaps 1 being subsequently turned down to complete the closure. The lining is attached to the body of the cartons by adhesive 4, 6 and may extend completely through the carton or only to the extent indicated by the line 5-5 at each end thereof.
