Abstract

173,326. Filmer, R. H. Sept. 29, 1920. Folding boxes; boxes wade from special blanks. -A collapsable box &c. of the kind in which the ends fold inwards or outwards on the centre line and the bottom folds downwards on the centre line, is provided with internal flaps a', Figs. 1 and 3, arranged to interlock with the ends of the box and thus hold the box positively in its distended condition. The edges of the blank from which the box is formed are provided with narrow flaps b<2> so arranged that, when the blank is doubled over about its centre crease a<2> and stitched at the sides, a flap b<2> projects inside the box at each end. These flaps are formed with slits b<3> or indentations b<4> adapted to be engaged by slits or indentations a<4> in the internal flaps a<1>. The slits or indentations in the end flaps b<2> may be replaced by slits &c. in the body of the end walls. The top of the box may be closed in the manner shown in Fig. 5, or by omitting the creases h, Fig. 1, the upper edges of the box may be caused to assume a curved form.
