Abstract

515,914. Boxes for nats &c. BUTWICK, H. S. July 4,1938, No. 19813. [Class 18] A box to hold a hat &c. is made from a blank which is folded to tubular form to comprise four walls 1, the base being formed by folding in flaps 7, 9 so that slots 19 coincide and extensions. 13, 15 on these flaps abut and project upwardly inside the box. Further base flaps 8, 10 are folded-under the flaps 7, 9, and extensions 14, 16 are passed upwards through the slots 19 so -that they can engage with the extensions 13, 15 to form a structure of crossed walls upon which the hat &c. can be placed. The engagement between the extensions 13 ... 16 is by means of extensions of the slots 19 and slots 20, 25. The top edges 29 of the box walls are bent into horizontal inwardly-directed flanges. A cap lid for the box is made from a cruciform blank of which two side flanges carry extensions which engage in solts in the other side flanges. A cord or cords knotted at the ends are engaged in slots 31 in two or all four sides and constitute a handle or means to hold the lid on the box.
