Abstract
502,283. Cartons. PILLIVANT, E. T. and FARO, H. C. Feb. 15, 1938, No. 4662. [Class 18] A collapsable carton with four sides, a top, and a bottom, is provided with two opposite spaced-in inner sides and a spaced-in inner bottom which minimize breakage of the contents. The carton is made up from a blank comprising sides 1, 3, 7 folded to tubular form, the spaced-in sides being folded from flaps 2 and flanges 2a which space the flaps from the sides 1. The false bottom is constituted by a flap 4 and its flange 4a cut-out of the side 3, and the opening thus left can be covered over by a flap 8 stitched &c. to the side 7, the flap 8 being held closed by tongues 9 which are inserted between the vertical parts of the side 3, and the adjacent flanges 2a. The contents of the carton are held between apertures 6 in the flaps 2.
