507,958. Boxes. FILMER, Ltd., R. H., and FILMER, J. W. March 16, 1938, No. 8069. [Class 18] A handle for a cardboard box of the type shown in Fig. 2 is formed from a blank shown in Fig. 6. In making up the latter, flaps 19 are folded about creases 20, the blank is doubled about crease 14 with the triangular portions 17 folded inwardly, flaps 23 are folded outwardly about creases 24, and flap 25 is doubled back to underlie both flaps 23. During the folding about crease 14, flaps 27 move over the opposite flap 23, one of the tongues 210 enters the aperture 21 previously occupied by the opposite tongue, and the latter slides under the opposite flap 23. After stitching, the handle is inserted from inside the box through coincident slots in the flanges 8, 9 of the -cover and body of the box respectively until the flaps 23, 25, 27 abut against the inner face of flange 9 in which position tongues projecting from opposite edges of the two slots enter the apertures 21. The handle may be stitched to the box.
