646,559. Sewing-machines. PIERSSENE. W. F. S. Nov. 20, 1948, No. 27584. [Class 112] Presser-feet; workguides.-A presser-foot for use in producing pile fabrics by stitching short lengths of yarn to a backing comprises a plate 1 adapted to be secured to the presser-bar and formed with a needle slot 2, a shield plate 4 secured to one side of the plate 1 (to keep clear yarn already attached), and a guide plate 7 secured to the other side (to aid in positioning the lengths of yarn so that the stitching is at their centre). In the form shown, the foot is attached to the presser-bar by the usual screw passing through a slot 6 in a vertical limb on the foot, and the guide-plate 7 is attached so as to be adjustable vertically .and horizontally by a screw fitting, preferably having a square cross-section, passing through crossed slots 8.
