Abstract

683,076. Sewing-machines. HAHN, A. H. Jan. 8, 1951 [Jan. 7, 1950], No. 468/50. Class 112. Finger - guards. - A coil of wire 9 is carried by a plate 1, adjustably mounted on the presserbar, in such a way that its upper end is slidably guided so that the coil may be compressed by the needle-bar in its descent. In the form shown an extension of the lower end of the coil is held in rolled edges 2, 3 of the plate 1 and an extension of the upper end is slidably guided in a vertical rolled edge 4. The plate carries in an aperture 12 a rotatable slotted disc 13 to receive the presser-foot clamping screw, whereby it may be secured in any desired position relative to the foot, and has adjustably fixed to it by a screw and slot 11 a bracket having lugs 6, 7 to embrace the presserbar. In a modification the disc 13 is dispensed with, and the clamping screw engages a vertical slot in the plate. Specification 21842/11, [Class 112], is referred to.
