A sewing-machine for attaching a folded band 24 to a knitted article 26 has means for guiding the band comprising a bearing plate 7 slidable on a pivoted guide arm 4, an angled projection 12 attached to the needle plate, and a presser foot comprising a main foot 17 carrying auxiliary foot 19 having an extension 19a. A screw 10 with an eccentric washer 9 is provided to permit adjustment of the angular position of the guide arm 4. The auxiliary presser foot 19 is pivoted at 20 to a plunger 21 slidable within the main foot against the action of a spring 23, the main foot being pivoted at 18 to a support 14 which is carried on the presser bar H.
