Abstract

481,328. Sewing-machines.INTERNATIONAL BUTTON HOLE SEWING MACHINE CO. Feb. 10, 1937, No. 4008. Convention date, April 30, 1936. [Class 112] In a machine for attaching buttons to work, the button clamp is universally adjustable in a plane substantially parallel to the work with respect to the stitch -forming mechanism, the adjustment of the clamp being independent of any relative movement between the clamp and the stitch-forming mechanism necessary to position the stitches. The button clamp C, shown as of the type described in Specification 463,521, is carried by a stem 21 rotatably adjustable in an arm 22 which is angularly adjustable on a stem 23 vertically slidable on the machine. The clamp may thus be positioned as required relative to the machine frame by pivotal movement about the stems 21, 23, and is locked in position by screws closing split ends of the arm 22 about the stems.
