Abstract
376,582. Sewing-machine tables. BRADLEY, C., 22, Franklin Street, and CHRISTIE, J., 9, Chapel Street, both in Lancaster. Oct. 20, 1931, No. 29076. [Class 52 (iii).] To convert old type sewing-machines to drophead machines, a portion is cut out of the old table and a new table A fitted thereon. The new table A has a panel D which slides into or out of a recess F. The machine head is hinged to the table A at B, C, and when not in use, is dropped about its hinges into the recess F, which is then covered by the sliding panel D. In use, the panel is pulled out so that the machine head can be raised ; the panel is then pushed in sufficiently for the free edge of the machine to rest thereon. In this position, to avoid the part E of the panel protruding, this part is hinged so that it can hang vertically, clear of the operator.
