Abstract
456,406. Sewing machines. PFAFF AKT.-GES., G. M., 140, Wittelsbacher Strasse, Kaiserslautern, Germany. March 16, 1936, No. 7907. Convention date, Oct. 4, 1935. [Class 112] A presser foot suitable for roll stitching has two guides 8, 11 at the side of the fixed sole 2, the remote guide 11 being used as a second sole for sewing the ends of turned-up trousers, corner binding, &c. The presser foot shank 1 is fixed to the presser bar by the usual clamping screw. The shank has a bolt 4 carrying a spring-pressed arm 6 to which is fixed the guide 8, the downward movement of which is limited by a stop 7. The guide is adjustable towards or away from the fixed sole 2 by a screw, the inner end of which forms a needle deflector. The second guide or presser-foot 11 is carried on an arm 10 also mounted on the bolt 4 and spring-pressed in a downward direction. This foot is raised to be level with the fixed foot 2 by a cam lever 12, or can be lowered to the same level as the guide 8. The foot 11 is adjusted to or from the guide 8 by a screw 14, the inner end of which acts to deflect the needle to enter the cloth at the correct angle.
