Abstract

471,310. Sewing - machines. SINGER MANUFACTURING CO. Feb. 17, 1937, No. 4736. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1936. [Class 1121 A presser-foot 1 for blind-stitching machines has a yielding work guide 4 pivoted at the forward end of the foot at a point on the guide nearest the operator so that the guide is free to rise and fall in the gap between the toe portions 2, 3 of the foot. The guide 4 is rigid with a pin 5 carried in bearings 6, 7, on a plate 8 carried by and held in a downward position by a torsion spring 11. The plate 8 may be adjusted to position the guide, by a slot 16 and nut 17, the folded material abutting against the guide 4 and the unfolded part passing beneath, Fig. 4.
