Abstract

645,330. Doors. ATKINSON, T. W. Sept. 20, 1948, No. 24534. [Class 20(iii)] [Also in Group I] Relates to fittings for preventing. sagging of closed doors. One fitting is secured to the door jamb 12 and the other to the vertical side member 9 of the door remote from the hinges. One fitting includes a lever 14 pivoted at 15 and the other a bracket or abutment 23. When the door is open the lever is inclined as shown, but on closing it is engaged by or engages the vertical portion of the bracket 23 and swings about its pivot. On swinging it engages under a portion 24 of the bracket and raises it (and therefore the side of the door) somewhat. When fully closed the top end 25 of the bracket engages behind the latch 20.
