643,178. Linear-dimension gauges. BRYANT CHUCKING GRINDER CO. Dec. 8, 1947, No. 32358. Convention date, March 31, 1942. [Class 106 (ii)] A linear-dimension gauge, shown adapted for internal gauging, but easily adapted for external gauging, comprises a base 1 having a guideway 2 thereon to receive a mounting for a dial gauge 22 and a support for a pair of feelers 4, the other co-operating feeler 9 being carried on the short arm 7 of a lever 8 pivoted to the base 1, and the long arm 20 of the lever contacting the plunger 21 of the dial gauge. The pivot of the lever 8 comprises transversely arranged leaf-springs 14, 16 secured to a bar 10 on the lever and the base 1. These springs press the arm 20 against a screw stop 30 on the base. The base may be provided with legs.
