Abstract

571,668. Concentricity testers. FRYE, J. Sept. 21, 1943, No. 15483. [Class 106 (ii)] A concentricity tester comprises a bed 1 at one end of which is a headstock 2 within which is mounted a vertically-adjustable slide 3 and at the other end a tailstock 8 slidable on the bed 1. The headstock and tailstock each support a pair of rotatable discs 5 which can support a shaft. Also mounted on the bed 1 is a slidable saddle 11 for carrying a dial indicator gauge, the feeler of which is placed in contact with the shaft which is then turned and any deviation from concentricity of the shaft is shown by the gauge.
