Abstract
564,536. Turning. WILSKER, R. July 22, 1943, No. 11969. [Class 83 (iii)] A device for enabling an internal or external radius to be turned in a lathe comprises a baseplate A for attachment to the lathe slide rest &c. provided with an undercut arcuate groove B in which slide rollers D on a tool-carrier E which is traversed along the groove by a handle G. A plate F in the undercut part of the groove is secured to the carrier by screws W to take up play. The point of the tool O is set at the appropriate distance from the centre C of the groove, to cut the required radius, by means of a gauge consisting of a base H to engage a recess M in the baseplate A and carrying a slide J to which is attached a point K. Scales are provided on the base and slide, the zero reading indicating when the point is at the centre C and a displacement from this position indicating the required radius, the tool point then being brought into contact with the gauge point N. Stops R are provided for limiting the movement of the carrier.
