Apparatus for turning crankshafts comprises means for delivering crankshafts in a predetermined oriented-position to a lathe for turning the main bearings, means for delivering the machine crankshafts to a gauge, and means for delivering the crankshafts in a second oriented position from the gauge to a lathe for turning the pin-bearings, the apparatus being shut down if the gauge fails to accept a crankshaft. The apparatus is similar to that described in Specifications 832,757 and 832,758.
