Abstract

638,240. Linkwork couplings. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and HUGHES, J. O. P. Jan. 9, 1948, No. 711. [Class 80 (iii)] To allow of misalignment and tilting a linkwork coupling for connecting a driving member 1 to a driven member 5, and particularly for driving a locomotive axle, comprises links 2 pivotally connected to a ring member 1 and an intermediate floating member 3 and links 4 pivotally connected to the intermediate member and radial arms 5 of the driven member, the arrangement of the links, arms and floating member being symmetrical to a central plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation. Rubber bushings may be provided for the links.
