638,229. Two-stroke engines. WEYANDT, C. S. Nov. 27, 1947, No. 31417. Convention date, Dec. 19, 1946. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi)] In a percussion tool in which a free piston 12 strikes the tool on ignition of a charge previously compressed in a chamber 30 by an auxiliary piston 11 connected to a crankshaft 13, a manually-operated brake acts on the crankshaft to synchronise the movement of the two pistons. A brake band 38 is contracted on a pulley 36 by finger engagement with a member 52 which extends into the tool handle 19 which carries the carburetter throttle lever 20.
