Abstract

633,020. Soldering-irons. STONE, G. H. Aug. 15, 1947, No. 22789. [Class 83 (iv)] In an electric soldering-iron an outer handle tube 21 surrounds a bit-supporting tube 18 and is connected thereto by a heat-insulating plastic &c. handle-end 19. The tubes 18, 21 have apertures 23 for free air access and the bit 10 has an integral fixing extension 11 acting as a former for an asbestos and glass-fibre covered heater winding 24. According to the Provisional Specification the tube 21 is of light alloy, the handle end 19 is wooden and the bit 10 may be removably screwed in a heater core.
