Abstract

581,388. Electrode holders. RUBERT, M. P. April 22, 1944, No. 7503. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] A carbon rod or other electrode 11 for electric welding, brazing, contact soldering &c. is held by a clamping collar 12 in an insulating tubular handle 15 of ebonite &c. having a through hole so that the electrode may project at each end; 10 is a tubular core of brass &c. and 14 is an asbestos &c. tube. The collar 12 is preferably located forwardly so that little heat is generated within the handle, and to supplement dissipation of heat, the collar and exposed part of the tube 10 may have radiating fins.
