364,706. R÷ntgen-ray tubes. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Coolidge, W. D. ; 36, Bedford Road, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) Oct. 17, 1930, No. 31152. Convention date, Oct. 18, 1929. [Class 39 (i).] A tube for internal therapy has an envelope consisting of glass and metal cylinders sealed together, the metal cylinder being tapered down to a tube small enough to be inserted into body cavities, an anode mounted in the closed end of the smaller portion and a cathode mounted in the larger portion of the metal cylinder. As shown, a metal cylinder 3 is sealed at one end to a glass tube 1 and is tapered at the other end and sealed to a cylinder 4 of copper, nickel, or platinum, which extends into the cylinder and is closed by a metal plug 5 carrying a target 6. The cathode 9 and focusing cup 8 are mounted within the cylinder 3. A window 18 of chromenickel steel is brazed to a member 19 of nickelsteel. which is silver soldered to the tube 4. A copper tube 20 for the circulation of cooling water is soldered around the tube 4.
