Abstract

455,499. Cathode-ray tubes. FERRANTI, Ltd., and TAYLOR, M. K., Hollinwood, Lancashire. April 16, 1935, No. 11706. [Class 39 (i)] In a cathode-ray tube the envelope is formed in two parts 7, 16 which are buttwelded together the leads 10 ... 15 of the electrodes 3, 4, 5 and 6 passing through the joint and being there sealed to the glass ; the thickness of the envelope wall is kept substantially uniform throughout. The above six electrodes are carried by support wires fixed in a mica sheet, further supports being provided if desired. A colloidal graphite coating 18 on the inside of the bulb is connected to the electrode 4. The leads are copper clad. The electrodes and leads are assembled on the foot portion 7 of the tube before the bulb portion 16 is welded thereto. The six terminals 17 are spaced equally around the tube.
