Abstract
710,990. High-frequency discharge apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 17, 1952 [April 20, 1951], No. 9691/52. Class 39(1) The anode 3 of a discharge tube is screwed into a tubular member 10 which has a disc portion 6 sealed to the tube wall 9, until the correct grid spacing is obtained, secured in position by melting a ring i of solder, and the outer end of the member 10 hermetically closed by welding a metal disc 12 thereon. The embodiment shown is a highfrequency triode, with flat grid and cathode of the disc-seal type. A supporting table 17 underneath the tube prevents cracking under the pressure of welding electrode 15. A channel 13 allows the space between anode 3 and disc 12 to be evacuated, after both have been sealed in position. Other electrodes may be secured in position in a similar manner.
