563,562. Welding electrodes. ASEA, ELECTRIC, Ltd., LONG, T. A., and FITCH, S. Nov. 30, 1942, No. 17002. [Class 39 (iii)] A welding electrode holder comprises a hand grip consisting of a tube a threaded at its forward end into an inclined tube c which carries the electrode f at its forward end. A terminal plug d is screwed into the rear end of the tube a. A plunger g is pressed against the electrode f by a spring h acting through a piston i, and pressure is also applied by the operator during welding by means of the lever j. The handle is cooled by air admitted through openings l to recesses k and the tube c is cooled by radiation from ribs n. A hand shield o is provided.
