Abstract

643,125. Electric soldering-irons. IMOBERSTEG, W. June 23, 1948, No. 16835. [Class 39(iii)] In a soldering-iron the bit 11 is detachable from the handle 1 and the heating element 10 is removably accommodated in a cavity in the bit 11. The element 10 surrounds a conducting rod 6 and is urged by a spring 13 into the bit 11 in which it is centred by a collar 17. The circuit in the iron is from one plug 3, metal socket 5, rod 6, element 10, metal ring 12, spring 13, threaded sleeve 8, and spring 18 to the other plug 4. The bit 11 is detached from the handle 1 by releasing a screw 16, the unscrewing of a nut 14 on the rod 6 permitting the removal of the element 10.
