Abstract

547,785. Electric soldering irons. MESTITZ, E., and ELCO (TREFOREST), Ltd. Oct. 3, 1941, No. 12807. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric heating element 1 is mounted on a holder 4 by plug and socket 'connections 2, 3 to facilitate replacement. The bit 6 has a portion 5 extending into the heating element, which is enclosed in a metal tube 8 connected by a screw coupling 9 to a tube 7 enclosing the holder 4. A hollow wooden handle 10 is provided with a metal ring 11 to which a flange on the tube 7 is secured by screws. Removal of the coupling 9 and tube 8 enables the heater 1 to be replaced.
