629,633. Suction-rolls of paper-making machines. MILLSPAUGH, Ltd., and HEYS, R. C. March 27, 1947, No. 8289. [Class 96] The holes of a suctionroll of a paper-making machine taper at 22 for at least one-third of the thickness of the shell with an included angle less than 35 degrees, and continue in a parallel bore 21. The tapers may be conical or flared. The holes may be equilaterally spaced' and the suction area may be 70 per cent of the roll surface.
