Abstract
626,118. Cores for dynamo-electric machines. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Aug. 14, 1947, No. 22591. Convention date, Aug. 15, 1946. [Class 35] A stator core consists of a stack of laminations ' 10 which are held together by two rigid end-plates 13 and a plurality of bars 19 having near each of its ends reduced diameter portions 21 to engage slots 18 near the periphery of the end-plates. The laminµ have larger slots in their outer periphery to receive the locking bars. The laminµ are preferably square with the corners rounded off, so as to make a tight fit with the inside of a frame ring 4. The core and end-plates are assembled together under pressure, and while in this state, four locking bars 19. are dropped into the stator and endplate slots. The end brackets 9 are secured to the frame by bolts 23 which may be accommodated in the ends of the looking bars.
