[Class 103 (i)] An internally expanding drum brake, of the kind wherein the shoe remains in light rubbing contact in the off condition, has a portion of the shoe lining 12 displaced a small predetermined amount away from the surface of the shoe 10, by resilient means (e.g. spring-loaded plunger 21), which projects through the drum flange, so that only the lining in the region ,of the plunger maintains rubbing contact with the drum lining 15. Alternatively, the plunger may be replaced by a spring-operated lever. Specification 519,787 is referred to.
