761,076. Disc and drum brakes. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Nov. 10, 1953 [Dec. 12, 1952], No. 31140/53. Class 103 (1). In a combination disc and drum brake, a brake application is initiated by pressurizing opposed pairs of fluid-pressure cylinders 62 in a brake unit 20 to apply friction pads to the sides of the disc 46, the drag of the disc on the pads causing clockwise or anti-clockwise pivotal movement of unit 20 about its pivotpin 44 to apply shoe brake elements 38 or 36 to the periphery 16 of the disc.
