Abstract
619,834. Heating air. FEDERATED FOUNDRIES, Ltd., CHAMBERLAIN, E. A. C., and MACMILLAN, H. Dec. 31, 1946, No. 38116. [Class 64(iii)] A domestic fire - grate includes two air heating chambers b mounted on a base-plate a and surmounted by a top plate c having front and rear flue openings m, n, the two chambers constituting the sides of the grate and accommodating between them the fire-grate proper l, the fire-back h, and a boiler i. The top and bottom plates are of cast-iron with integral flanges d against which the sides of the chambers b are located, these sides being also of cast-iron while the remainder of the chambers is of sheet-iron. Air inlets g for the chambers are provided in the baseplate and flanges e for ducts f are provided in the top plate. By opening a damper o the flue gases may be made to pass behind the boiler and up the rear flue k.
