Abstract

532,680. Heating air. MAHLER, L. July 24, 1939, No. 21422. [Class 64 (iii)] An open fireplace 8 is spaced from the rear wall 13 and enclosed by a casing 15 forming side spaces in which air is heated while flowing upwards from inlets 16 to outlets 17. The outer walls 1 of the fireplace are formed with fins 2, and horizontal baffles 12 direct the air current towards the back of the fireplace near the grate level. A damper 10 in the uptake is maintained in open position by a catch on the spindle 11 engaging a stop.
