[Class 126] In a combined ashpan and air admission damper for domestic fireplaces, the front wall 2 of the ashpan 3 is provided with apertures 6 adapted to be opened and closed by an ornamental damper plate 1 hinged to the wall 2 at 5 and formed with an operating handle 4 which alsc serves for removing the ashpan. Means are provided for retaining the damper 1 in the raised position.
