511,428. Domestic fireplaces. NOWELL, C. D. Feb. 14. 1938, No. 4502. [Class 126] A domestic fireplace has a sunken cavity 5 behind the hearth 4 which is on one level back to the rear face of the arch 1, and a basket grate with short front legs. 7 and long back legs 8 stands at the front on the hearth and at the rear in the cavity, so that the actual fire level is only slightly above the hearth but sufficient air is supplied below the fire, where an ashpan is provided. A removable screen 9 has air control openings. Specification 502,146 is referred to.
