Abstract

617,829. Folding chairs. BARR, G. P. (Eckersley, P. J.). Oct. 10, 1946, No. 30299. [Class 52 (ii)] A folding chair which can be folded flat within the compass of one of its frames comprises front and rear frames 10, 13 pivoted together at 14 and held in open position by pivoted collapsible struts 17. A back frame 18, 19 is pivoted to the rear frame and, in open position, is connected to the front frame 10 by flexible members 20 serving as arm rests. The flexible seat 22 is connected to cross bars 11, 15 on the front and rear frames respectively and the flexible back member 23 is connected to the cross bar 19 of the back frame and the seat member 22 to the rear of the pivoting points of the back frame with the rear frame 13. If desired the back and seat flexible members 22, 23 may comprise one piece connected together adjacent to the cross bar 15 to which it is connected.
