Abstract
607,262. Folding seats. MADSEN, A. A. Jan. 30, 1946, No. 2939. Convention date, March 2, 1942. [Classes 52(ii) and 52(iii)] In a folding seat of X- form in which the front and rear legs are pivoted together on either side of each of the side members of a rigid seat which is pivoted to the upper parts of the front and rear legs the rigid seat sides 10 being at the front pivoted by a fixed pivot to the upper parts of the rear legs 2 and at the rear by means of slots 9 and a pivot to the upper parts of the front legs 1 which are prolonged to provide a back. In folding the rear legs 2 fold into the compass of the lower part of the front legs 1 together with the seat 3. The front and rear legs are pivoted together by a U-mounting to accommodate the sides 10 of the rigid seat 3 when folded.
